Stronger Together: Bone Health for Every Generation
What does a strong body look like at 3 years old? Or 78?
Over the 4th of July weekend, I hosted what might be my favorite kind of gathering—a Barn Burner Family Workout. It reminded my why strength, community and bone health matter at every age.
We had 47 family members sweating, cheering, and laughing together. From the age of 3 to 78, we showed up with a good dose of competitive spirit, and more importantly, a whole lot of heart.
We did wall sits. Step taps. Planks. And plenty of joyful movement.
The energy was contagious—but what struck me most was the encouragement. Generations standing side by side, lifting each other up (sometimes literally), and modeling what health really looks like: not perfection, but participation.
Why does this matter? Because bone health is a lifelong pursuit.
In our 20s, we’re building peak bone mass. In midlife, we’re preserving it. And later in life, we’re protecting it. Movement is one of the best ways to keep bones strong and resilient. And it’s even better when we do it together.
It turns out, nothing worth doing can be done alone.
And when it comes to health—especially bone health—we’re all in this together.
This is exactly what is fostered, nurtured and encouraged in all JRAPPFIT strength classes - a place to modify, a place to move gently, a place to grow strong, a place to lift heavy.
My clients continue to show up for classes because they trust I will meet them where they are, and push them when they need it.
I continue to be in awe of helping all generations move better, feel better and keep having fun. It is the heart and pulse of what I love to do.
