Motion is the Lotion
There’s a little phrase I say often—sometimes to clients, sometimes to myself—“Motion is the lotion.”
It’s simple, but powerful.
Our bodies were made to move. And when we don’t move, things start to ache, stiffen, or feel sluggish. But just a little bit of motion—a walk, a stretch, a few squats while the coffee brews—can ease the creaks and bring us back to life.
Think of it like oiling a hinge. The more you move it, the smoother it works.
This doesn’t mean extreme workouts every day.
It means honoring your body with movement that feels good. Motion boosts mood, improves circulation, lubricates joints, supports digestion, clears the mind—and connects us back to ourselves.
Take it from my client, Sheila, who recently shared this with me:
“I feel healthier and happier! I always say this, but really mean it—your workouts are FABULOUS! Challenging and always so varied. I told my husband this morning that I hadn’t truly known how to do a proper squat until working with you. The knees were carrying the move (bad idea). Once my core and glutes were strengthened (by your workouts) and with your training guidance, I now do them using glutes and core!! How exciting!! You’re the best!! ❤️💪”
Her words are a perfect reminder: when we move with purpose and learn to move well, everything shifts—from the inside out.
So the next time you feel stuck, stiff, or off—try a little motion.
It really is the best lotion…
lubricating those strong bones, protecting them with muscle fiber, getting the heart pumping, and bringing clarity for your next great thing!
