Cultivating a Bone Beautiful Summer: Movement, Nourishment & Mindset

Summer is officially here, bringing with it a gentle opportunity to slow down, embrace warmth, and cultivate a sense of well-being, from the inside out with your beautiful body.

What does a "Bone Beautiful" season look like for you? —a season where every aspect of our lives can nourish, rest, restore, and revive.

Movement: The Foundation of Bone Beauty

When we think of bone health, our minds often jump straight to calcium. While crucial, it's movement that truly lays the groundwork for strong, resilient bones. Our bones are living, dynamic tissues that respond to the stresses placed upon them. Weight-bearing exercises, in particular, stimulate osteoblasts (bone-building cells) to create new bone tissue, making them denser and stronger.

This summer, let's reframe our relationship with movement. It doesn't have to be high-intensity or grueling.

Think of it as a joyful exploration of what your body can do to build resilient bone health:

Walk Barefoot in the Grass: Feel the grass and dirt beneath your feet.  You have so many small muscles in your feet and ankles, which support your entire bone structure and skeleton. Go ahead and kick those shoes off!

Jiggle in the Kitchen: Put on your favorite summer tunes and let loose! Jiggling is a form of dancing for all ages and stages and is a great way to engage multiple muscle groups and improve balance.

Swim Like a Fish: The gentle resistance of water provides a full-body workout without harsh impact, perfect for joint health and overall strength.

Join my NEW KINSTRENGTH™ Class: Slow, controlled movements, improving flexibility, balance, and strengthening muscles that support your bones.  This is the only summer class you will need to play everything outdoors better (pickleball, biking, running, hiking, tennis, golf,…You get the point!)

What is KINSTRENGTH™—and Who’s It For?

KINSTRENGTH is a 60-minute online class designed to help you build strength where it really counts—in your joints. This isn’t your typical workout. We focus on improving mobility, flexibility, and control in every joint from your neck to your toes, starting with dynamic stretches, adding resistance-based strength work, and ending with intentional mobility exercises.

If you’re over 50 and want to stay strong, stable, and injury-free, this class is for you.
If you’ve felt stiff, achy, or like your range of motion is a becoming a problem—this is for you.
If you want to improve your posture, reduce pain, or move with more ease in everyday life—this is for you.

I created KINSTRENGTH by blending proven techniques from Kinstretch with functional strength training, using my background as a Certified Strength Coach and Functional Range Specialist.

Think of it as strength training for your joints—a safe, smart, and empowering way to support your body for the long run.

Your bones, joints, and future self will thank you.
