Bone Health, Strength, and the Power of Movement

Don’t put limits on yourself—there are always ways to move your body. You have joints that were made to move. You have a heart designed to be pushed. You have a brain built to ignite those “feel good” sensors after exercise.

Lately, I’ve had many new clients reach out to me after receiving a diagnosis of osteoporosis or osteopenia. Almost every time, I hear the same fears:

  • “I’m too fragile now.”

  • “I don’t know what to do first.”

  • “I guess I can’t move like I used to.”

This mindset is common—and completely understandable. But here’s what I want you to know: a diagnosis is not the end of movement. It’s not a setback. It’s an opportunity to move your beautiful body in ways that protect, strengthen, and empower you.

I am not a doctor. I am a strength coach who has worked (and continues to work) with many clients carrying this diagnosis. And here’s the truth: no pill and no prescription can increase your mobility, your balance, or your muscle strength.

Yes, medication can play an important role in improving bone density. But medication cannot:

  • Build the strength to catch yourself if you stumble.

  • Improve the balance that prevents falls.

  • Strengthen the muscles that protect your bones.

Only exercise can do that.

That’s why I teach beginner strength and KINSTRENGTH classes. Intentional, well-designed, functional exercise is the key to:

  • Building long-term strength gains

  • Protecting bones with strong muscles

  • Supporting joint health and range of motion

  • Preserving independence and confidence

As a newly elected Trustee to the Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation, and as a long-time advocate of bone health through exercise, I want to help you stop limiting yourself. Your body was built to move—and it still can.

If you are interested in trying a class, it’s not too late!  There are still a few spots left, as I keep my class size limited to give you the attention you deserve to progress this fall.  Want a sneak peek to see how we move with purpose—with prescription, but without the pills. Message me and I’ll share a recorded class with you!

Because the truth is: you are stronger than you think, and your body was meant to move.

October is Bone Health Month and includes National Osteoporosis Day—and I’ve got a special treat for you: 30 Days of “BOO-st Your Bones”! Each day, you’ll get a quick, 1-minute strength move to help you sneak in a little extra movement and support stronger bones. Stay tuned!
