Why I’m Still Moving Forward (Even When I Don’t Feel Like It)

Some days, I don’t feel like it.

I don’t feel like drinking the water.
I don’t feel like eating the plants.
I don’t feel like lifting the weights.

And yet, I still move forward.

Not because it’s always easy. Not because I’m always motivated. But because I’ve lived what happens when I don’t.

My hips have challenged me for as long as I can remember. Years of pain, setbacks, and eventually a hip replacement taught me a hard truth: strong bones and muscles don’t just happen—they’re built, slowly and intentionally. And when I was at my lowest point, rebuilding felt overwhelming. That’s when I discovered that one minute was enough.

One minute of movement was where I started. One minute reminded me I could still do something. One minute built the foundation for everything that came after.

That’s why bone health isn’t just a topic I write about—it’s personal.

It’s why I keep going, even on the days I don’t feel like it.

Because here’s the truth:

  • My bones don’t care if I’m in the mood. They care if I’m consistent.

  • My future mobility depends on the choices I make today.

  • And every glass of water, every plant-based meal, every minute of strength work is a deposit into my long-term health.

Why I Created the 1-Minute Move Challenge

I created the October 1-Minute Move Challenge as a simple way to help you see what’s possible.

You don’t need hours at the gym or a perfectly planned schedule.
You need small, repeatable actions that build strength, stability, and confidence over time.

Here’s what it looks like:

  • One minute of intentional movement each day

  • One bone-healthy recipe to nourish your body each week

  • One nutrient-packed plant on your plate, every day

These may seem small, but on the hard days, they’re anchors. They remind me that even when motivation dips, momentum still matters.

And more than that, I know my future self—the one who wants to hike, travel, lift grandbabies, and live without fear of a fall—is already thanking me for choosing consistency over perfection.

So let’s keep going—together. One minute, one meal, one choice at a time.
